Why not join the MVT today? You don’t need to own a military vehicle, just an interest in them is enough, or you may be a re-enactor or member of a Living History group.

Benefits of MVT membership.

  • You will receive a copy of the club’s award-winning magazine, “Windscreen”, six times a year

  • Those over 16 years of age are automatically covered by our Personal Public Liability Insurance Scheme (PPLI) which gives you peace of mind when displaying vehicles and artefacts at any event. Many event organisers now require this insurance and further details can be found on our website

  • You will receive a copy of the MVT Calendar in December

  • Your card entitles the named person to free entry to MVT National Shows and during the year MVT members are invited to a variety of events

  • You can affiliate, at no extra cost, to one of our local areas; there are 33 areas so there will be one not far from you. Area meetings, at the local meetings you will find a group of like-minded vehicle enthusiasts with a wealth of knowledge that you can tap into and many attend locally organised events.

  • You will be entitled to a range of discounts and privileges e.g. discounted vehicle insurance organised through our associated providers

  • You have access to organised tours abroad to commemorate important anniversaries

  • After a year, you will have access to our free vehicle verification service

  • You have access to our extensive library and our Facebook group which you are welcome to join

Membership Fees.

Single UK Membership £35 ( must be 16 years of age or over ).

Joint UK Membership £40*

Overseas single Membership £40  (overseas membership does not include PPLI insurance cover)

*Joint Memberships should reside at the same address, the second / joint member must be 13 years old or over and will not be entitled to the PPLI insurance benefit until their 16th birthday. Both members will receive a membership card.  It is only possible to change between single and joint membership when renewing your membership.

You can join or renew your membership online, using our membership handling system “Sentinel”  by following the instructions below and pay by debit card, credit card, PayPal or by setting up a direct debit . Please consider paying by our preferred method Direct Debit Online. This saves the MVT significant costs and helps to keep your membership fees down.

If you have not already done so, please consider joining our Gift Aid Scheme. If you are a UK taxpayer, you can enable us to reclaim tax on your subscription, effectively increasing the amount we receive by 25%. Using Gift Aid means that the taxman will give us 25p for every pound you pay. You must be charged Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for the year of donation at least equal to the tax treated as deducted from all Gift Aid donations. The income generated by this scheme is extremely important to us, so please consider signing up, either on our website through your account in Sentinel, or by using our telephone helpline.

Please be aware that by applying for membership you agree to abide by the terms of the Memorandum of Association, the Articles of Association and the Code of Conduct, and you will not act in a manner prejudicial to the interests of the MVT nor bring the reputation of the MVT into disrepute. This includes any act involving any media communication in the public domain.

Please ensure that you supply an email address so we can issue receipts and reminders by email. This method of communication is quickest and most cost efficient (helping to keep membership costs down) and also helps us to reduce paper usage thereby minimising the environmental cost of communication.

Receipts are issued on payment and membership cards are issued within a week. New applications to join or renew paid by Direct Debit will take up to 25 days to complete due to statutory regulations. Please allow sufficient time if you are renewing so that your membership does not expire and your insurance lapse.

Members will receive a renewal notice several weeks before their membership expiry date. If renewal payment is not received by the due date your membership will expire with immediate effect due to the requirements of the PPLI insurers. You can re-apply for membership but you will not be able to back date your membership to the original expiry date.

Airsoft / Deactivated weapons.

Membership of the MVT and Public Liability Insurance may NOT cover the purchase or use of airsoft / replica weapons.  It is at the discretion of the dealer if they acknowledge MVT membership suitable for the purchase of a replica weapon.

  • Refunds will only be given if the payment amount collected by us is incorrect or if payment is collected in error eg after a request for cancellation in which case the Member will be asked to return their Membership card in order to receive the refund
  • Refunds cannot be given if a Member changes their mind or is dissatisfied with MVT Membership or if a Member is expelled
Joining the MVT and renewing your existing MVT membership is now done online through our membership handling system Sentinel.

Existing MVT Members:  When you wish to renew your current membership or review or change any of the details held by the MVT, you need to set up and use an account in our membership handling system “Sentinel”.

You can create an account by clicking the “Create Account or Login” button below. When you create your account and also when you fill in the link card you MUST use your name as it is spelled on your membership card or it will show up an error message.

Please note: the email address and Post Code you use to set up your Sentinel account must match the ones you have previously provided to the MVT. If you need to update your email address or Post Code, please ring our telephone helpline 0333 321 8977 before attempting to create an account, Monday to Friday 9am till 5 pm.

New Members: If you are new to the MVT and wish to join, please click on the “Join the MVT” button below and also create your new account in Sentinel.

If you want to see what data the MVT holds on you please log into your account by using the login button above and click on your name at the top right of the screen, then click data details. Please note if you change your address or name it is your responsibility to change these details yourself in your account.
